Evaluating every component, while aiming to stay true to the pedal’s transparent and mid-range-focused tone. After numerous prototypes, Ibanez concluded the JRC NJM4558 op-amp was essential to achieve the Tube Screamer’s legendary sound. At the same time, this new design is capable of a wider range of sounds thanks to the addition of high-end components such as MOGAMI OFC cables, which further enhance the benefits of a hand-wired pedal. Additionally, a boost has been added to the final stage of the circuit, increasing the maximum output level by +6dB. Octavix delivers the definitive late 1960's fuzzed out, octave up sound together with modern enhancements that update the classic concept.
Housed in EHX's rugged nano package, the Octavix features Volume, Boost and Octave knobs. Volume regulates the output level of the pedal. Boost controls the amount of fuzztone and Octave adjusts the volume of the octave above.
