After numerous prototypes, Ibanez concluded the JRC NJM4558 op-amp was essential to achieve the Tube Screamer’s legendary sound. At the same time, this new design is capable of a wider range of sounds thanks to the addition of high-end components such as MOGAMI OFC cables, which further enhance the benefits of a hand-wired pedal. Additionally, a boost has been added to the final stage of the circuit, increasing the maximum output level by +6dB. Designed with Tye Trujillo of OTTTO and Suicidal Tendencies, this new pedal for guitar or bass combines a Wah and Drive pedal. The Wah is switchless (simply step on to engage and step off to go to bypass) and optical (no more pots to wear out or get scratchy). The Wah was designed to have a slight amount of drive built in which already give the Wah more presence and a little bite.
