Handcrafted in DW’s California Custom Shop, these drums feature 100% North American Maple shells designed for exceptional versatility across genres, both live and in the studio. Constructed with HVX (horizontal-vertical-diagonal) SSC grain orientation, the shells deliver a low fundamental, punchy attack, and classic warm tone. Toms and bass drum are built from 8 plies of Hard Rock Maple with 45-degree/60-degree back-cut bearing edges, while snares feature 10 plies with a 45-degree edge for added cut and projection. Performance Series drums share many hardware details with the Collectors Series, including Suspended Tom Mounts (STM), quarter-sized turret lugs, and triple-flange graduated counter hoops. Bass drums come with matching maple hoops and low-mass claw hooks, while all drums include DWs True-Pitch tension rods for precise tuning.
