UZUKURI Finish The traditional Japanese finishing technique known as "UZUKURI" has been modified for use on drum shells. In this procedure, the soft areas in the wood grain are sanded and then the whole shell is coated with a thin layer of black paint. The entire surface of the shell is then sanded again before the final coating is applied, in a process that emphasizes the natural beauty of the Oak grain. Bass Enhancement Weight (PAT.PEND) Featuring a design styled around the Absolute Lug, the weights studded in the bass drum at the lug points attenuate low-mid frequencies, resulting in a tight, focused bass drum sound. Designed in conjunction with Jazz legend Kenny Washington, this newest edition to the K Constantinople line is medium thin in weight, which produces a pitch that can ride over the band and cuts through most small to big band settings.
