Matt Garstka’s signature Equilibrium ride features a piercing bell that works in aggressive music, a nice stick attack with pleasing overtones for jazz-like patterns that are common in progressive music, and a crash-ability that doesn’t interfere with the former two attributes. "We didn't rush anything and I feel very good about that," says Matt. " We came up with something that has a great spread to it. This is in full balance. It has the full range of expression that I was looking for in a ride."

With its dark tone, the highly-responsive SABIAN 18 HHX Legacy Crash can play loudly, but always remains musical. Until HHX, it was impossible to project darkness. Recent adjustments were made to the curvature and weights of many current models to capture the sweet spot of the classic A sound, producing crashes, rides, and hats that reflect today's musical styles.

This Pure Alloy Custom Expanded Set covers essential sounds for live, recording, and practice. The set completes a standard kit with an expansion of two crashes. Combining medium thin and extra thin weights provides flexibility.
