The 22" AAX Heavy Ride from SABIAN introduces a whole new palette of sound to the AAX line. A larger, raw bell equals better crash-ability, typically not the case with a heavy ride. A whole new style of hammering − much more visible on the surface of the cymbal due to the larger, rounder peen − makes for a ride cymbal that trends thinner than a traditional heavy ride, with added darkness and complexity. At the same time, more highs are introduced into the sound, resulting in a wider band of frequency. For drummers, that means brighter highs and more complex lows. SABIAN has always pushed the boundaries of innovation, using the latest manufacturing technology to answer new trends in music and sound. AAX Heavy Rides are no exception, answering the call for crash-able, complex Rides with added versatility.

These venerable cymbals – developed during the 1960’s rapid expansion of popular music were faithfully recreated and re-launched by Paiste in 2005. Giant Beat cymbals offer the big, warm, brilliant vintage sound that takes you straight back to the roots of Rock.

Recent adjustments were made to the curvature and weights of many current models to capture the sweet spot of the classic A sound, producing crashes, rides, and hats that reflect today's musical styles.

The SABIAN 21 HHX Groove Ride is a funky blend of stroke and tone in a cymbal with simmering sound and feel. Until HHX, it was impossible to project darkness. But the dark, simmering sound, agitated bite and Tone Projection design of HHX makes this series more effective than others. Classics Custom Dark cymbals undergo a special finishing process that leaves the cymbals with dark and complex tones along with the clarity, cut and volume that Classics Custom is known to deliver. This same unique twist on the traditional design gives the cymbals a rich, dark appearance. Widely spaced deep hammering and additional lathing round out their tonal qualities, giving them a warmer mix of sound along with an explosive response.
