Extra Large-Diaphragm FET Condenser with Three Distinct Voices, Selectable Polar Patterns, and 3-Way Gain Selection Designed and Built in Silicon Valley.

The Atlantis is the three distinct FET microphones packed into a single, hand-finished brass enclosure. Designed in close collaboration with renowned Producer and Mix Engineer Fab Dupont, the Atlantis provides a dynamic and versatile wealth of sound that makes picking the right microphone for even the most troublesome sources as easy as flipping a switch. From modern, tight and bright to smoky vintage velvet, the Atlantis offers an analog abundance of ready-for-mix sounds in a single microphone.

Three separate signal paths are readily available for effortless timbral selection at the flip of a switch. The Gentle selection is warm with a vintage feel, ideal for taming bright or abrasive sound sources. The Neutral selection is classy and balanced with a smooth top-end, perfect for acoustic instruments. The Forward selection is bold, present and modern, without ever being harsh – the quintessential sound of modern Pop, Hip-Hop, and R&B.

The capsule of a microphone captures music’s most meaningful moments and converts them into electricity with relentlessly unforgiving results. Lauten's precision-crafted 38mm capsule is one of the largest in the world -- a one of a kind super-transducer designed in Silicon Valley and tuned by hand to capture the spirit, soul and wonder of a performance with unprecedented authenticity and realism.

Further extending the versatility of the Atlantis is a three-position gain switch. The +10dB selection is ideal for use with quiet sound sources and consumer-grade audio interfaces where more character from the microphone itself is desired. The -10dB selection is useful when more colour and saturation from a high-end preamp is desired, or when paired with very loud sounds. Set to 0, the output of the Atlantis is at its default output selection.

Polar patterns have a significant impact on the sound of a microphone because each selection determines what the microphone hears. A Cardioid selection will focus all of the microphone’s attention directly to where it is pointed. This is the most commonly used polar pattern for sound sources such as vocals. Figure-8 and Omnidirectional selections allow the sound of a room or other off-axis instrumentation to be captured in a more open, natural or authentic way. These patterns are extremely useful for recording acoustic sound sources like guitar, piano, or drums.

The Atlantis signal path is hand-populated with high resolution, low distortion polypropylene capacitors, a US made low-noise FET, and a custom wound output transformer that puts the finishing touches on every sound that passes through its copper windings. The result is a smooth, mix-ready sound brimming with life.

After being hand-polished, the Atlantis’ solid brass enclosure is hand finished with a durable, non-toxic ceramic coating and baked in an oven for curing before final assembly, burn-in, and testing.
