The design team dusted off a rare vintage silicon circuit and added a Variac control so you can set the pedal's voltage anywhere from 5V to 15V. For that wonderful saggy fuzz effect you get as a 9V battery loses its power, just lower the voltage by turning the Variac knob. Increasing the voltage raises the effects headroom, opening up the fuzz for a more transparent sound at 15V. The circa-1980 Electro-Harmonix Attack Decay is a sought after prize among vintage pedal aficionados. It was originally known as the Tape Reverse Simulator, producing volume and reverse swells, backward tape sounds, short staccato notes and bowed instrument effects. The new Attack Decay reinterprets the classic, stepping up the cool-factor with contemporary features & enhanced functionality. You can produce a ‘Mono’ volume envelope like the original, but now when engaged in ‘Poly’ mode, you can separate volume envelopes on each note you play.
